14 May 2006: Day 2 - Whilst Out At Sea…

My original intention was to wake up early at 8.00am to go out on deck and take photos of the amazing view. My alarm clock didn’t ring; we all woke up at 11.30am instead. But by tt time the sun had come up; while my parents were later getting ready to go out for lunch, I did get a chance to go out to read for a while at our balcony, and to take photos.

Tt is me. And yes, the wind is strong and it is fucking cold.

After tt, we went upstairs for a buffet lunch. A whole lot of food. I tasted everything from the turkey breast to the pork chop with BBQ sauce, the white fish with lemon butter sauce and the red snapper with pepperoni tomato sauce, the curried chicken and the roast beef, the cheeses and the desserts of chocolate cake, cheese cake, fruit tart, and key lime mousse with fresh strawberries. YUM. Talk about decadence.

After tt, I’d wanted to take more photos on deck, but it was FUCKING COLD. It was so windy, and coz the ship was cruising up north off the coast of Canada heading towards Alaska, it was seriously freezing.

So I scrapped tt idea. Tried to read for a while on the sun deck, but finally gave up. So it was back down to my room where I managed to do some real reading on the balcony. My mom decided to hop out to test the line dancing and ballroom dances classes which were free, while my dad decided to go to the casino. So while getting bored with reading, I also decided to take narcissistic photos.

Voila. Me, narcissistic; and still not used to my hair colour. Haha.

After tt, I hopped on out to the gym, spending some time there discovering how weak and pathetic I have become. I used to be able to lift 50 pounds easily for the shoulder press… now I struggle with 30. I am truly pathetic! *sobz*

Came back to get ready for dinner back at the Pacific Moon Dining Room. Tonight was “Formal Wear Night”, so everyone was required to dress up. The Dining Room was fully occupied when we went down at 7.00pm, so we decided to have pre-dinner cocktails before dinner. I drank so much orange juice coz it was free and the waiter kept serving me glass after glass tt I couldn’t resist. And all those canapés. Sheesh. You cannot come onto this damn cruise and expect not to gain weight. Wahaha.

Oh, and our waiter, who was Thai, thought I was from Thailand too. Hmm. Why is it tt people think tt I am from the Philippines, or Thailand, but not Chinese?

Oh, anyway me and my mom took a photo at the cocktail lounge.

Me and my mom. Heh.

Then, after whiling an hour away, we made our way onward to dinner at 8.00pm.

Tonight for dinner, I’d ordered the crab quiche as the appetizer, the lobster bisque, the Caesar salad, and the silver Ketchikan salmon with dill butter sauce.

And my dessert was chocolate hazelnut soufflé.

It consists of a chocolate hazelnut pudding encased in a crunchy chocolate crust, and topped with creamy custard. YUM.

And tt is the three of us at the restaurant with our desserts.

After dessert, we decided to while some time away at the casino, and I watched my dad play blackjack.

Then it was on to watch tonight’s song and dance performance at the Princess Theatre.

And I tried unsuccessfully to take a photo with my dad.

After the show, it was back to the room for a rest.

We need the rest after all, tomorrow will be the first in 3 long days.
